Dr. Prashanth G
MBBS MS OBG
I built this because most of my patients left the clinic without truly understanding their pregnancy. They had questions their families couldn't answer, in languages medical textbooks don't speak.
A mother who understands her own pregnancy has better outcomes. This platform is my attempt to give every South Indian mother the knowledge she deserves — in her own language, on her own time.
Common questions
Evidence-based answers
How many antenatal visits are recommended during pregnancy in India?add
The Indian government's Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan recommends a minimum of 4 antenatal visits — in the first trimester, at 14–26 weeks, at 28–34 weeks, and at 36 weeks onwards. For high-risk pregnancies (GDM, HTN, twins, or prior complications), fortnightly or monthly visits are standard clinical practice.
What is a TIFA scan and when should it be done?add
TIFA (Targeted Imaging for Fetal Anomalies) is a detailed anatomy ultrasound performed between 18–22 weeks. It evaluates fetal organ development including the heart, brain, spine, kidneys, and limbs. This window is optimal for detection of major structural anomalies.
What are the danger signs in pregnancy that require immediate attention?add
Seek immediate care for: vaginal bleeding at any stage, severe headache with visual disturbance, sudden swelling of face/hands/feet, decreased fetal movements after 28 weeks, leaking fluid from the vagina, severe abdominal pain, or high fever.
